Google Search Optimization for WordPress Blogs
by Thai on March 21, 2011
WordPress out of the box is already search engine optimized but you can do more by doing minor tweaks and additions to maximize your online presence. You can also follow all of Google’s SEO guidelines and not see results. It’s better to play nice with their simple rules then to do something which will hurt you in the long run. At the end of the day, quality content is king of the jungle. So, focus on quality and not quantity.
You should never, ever keyword spam. Ever. You may notice a slight increase of traffic for the first day but it wont last long. They will put you on the naughty list like they did with Sears. You have to think long term and black hat SEO shortcuts just wont hack it.

Kid Skull Painted With Sketchbook Mobile

Sketchbook Mobile is the only reason I would buy a tablet. I thought Adobe would come out with something good as this but Autodesk beat them to the punch. You can customize your brushes and the best part is layers. Each layer has filter options that you can set like multiply or screen. It’s everything you want in a sketching app. Although I had issues saving my work properly from time to time, I find myself exploring it’s intuitive UI. Not bad for a buck.

Speed up Chrome by turning on GPU acceleration. Type this in your URL bar:
Simply look for GPU Accelerated Canvas 2D and click on enable. If you’re running on a computer that needs a little help optimizing resources then this may help your system out by utilizing the GPU instead. Also, restart the browser, so that it’ll get it going. Remember that this is experimental and you might not even notice any difference in the performance. You can test against Internet Explorer’s Test Drive to see any improvements.

My First Cup of Turkish Coffee
by Thai on March 9, 2011
I had my first Turkish coffee at a place called Istanbul Cafe in downtown San Diego and it was simply wonderful. I’ve been hearing how great it is and so I tried a cup myself. Normally, you would have it after your meal but I’m a big fat American, so I had it with my meal. It’s served in a little cup like how you would drink traditional espresso. It’s really, really strong and full of flavor and has a nutty flavor. If you don’t mind grains of coffee then it’s an interesting experience. The thing that struck my attention was the slug at the bottom and I was told by my friend that you shouldn’t stir it. There’s a tradition where after you finish you let the slug harden and you turn your coffee plate upside down. I guess you then tell your fortune after you pour the slug out. You don’t have to do this but I honestly enjoyed a good buzz from a tiny amount.
