World Renowned Graffiti Artist Banksy Tags Oceanside
by Thai on February 27, 2011
The enigma that is Banksy left a little doodle on the side of a restaurant and overnight Bull Taco became an artistic epicenter. One of the guys with their telescope looking cameras mentioned Banksy had lunch with the owner and was hanging out with his extreme sports friend… At this point the conversation got weird. I thought he was a super secretive guy? Apparently not.
The rat is his recurring icon so it’s something he would do. It’s wearing star shaped shades and flying a kite with three figures crossing. One of the figures is holding a kite as well. The viewer can interpret this anyway they like but I’m going to guess that people in California don’t fly kites enough. He could be skateboarding down the street where he made his mark and we’d never know or having lunch with his extreme sports buddies.
Update: There’s a huge chance that this is fakesy. One of the things that struck me when I approached the wall was the sloppiness of it. The details aren’t as clean and the image doesn’t invoke anything. I’m sorry but this may be… a copy cat.

Coffee Cup Artist
by Thai on January 18, 2011
Artists have a knack for doing something extraordinary and Boey is no different. His medium is a foam cup and ink. He’s selling these on etsy too. The thing that really got me is he’s using a pointillism style which makes the illustration very compelling to look at. His body of work is nothing short than awesome.
Starbucks New Logo
by Thai on January 18, 2011
Starbuck is rebranding themselves again and has streamlined their logo. They’ve basically removed Starbucks from it. Their logo is so iconic that they feel confident enough to remove it entirely. It seriously gave the logo breathing room but it goes against their vintage graphic design.
Beautiful Paintings Made of Coffee
by Thai on December 20, 2010
Some people can’t get enough of coffee that they will even go far as using coffee to make paintings with. Angel and Andy have been doing this for a long time. Coffee is pretty hard to paint as a medium but they’ve managed to get a dark tone and they’re keeping it a secret.
